SYNOPSIS

Nothing is as it seems when Castle and Beckett investigate what appears to be the assassination of an intelligence operative.

Meanwhile, Beckett's romance with Demming threatens her relationship with Castle, forcing them to confront their feelings for each other in the season finale of Castle.

PLOT DANGLERS

  • Will Beckett ever be able to tell Castle how she feels?

  • Is Castle considering a serious relationship with his ex-wife, Gina?

BEST MOMENTS

  • The exact time Beckett realizes her feelings for, she smiles at Castle lovingly after talking with Montgomery.
  • Esposito and Beckett's little "talk."
  • Castle's poker game.
  • Alexis comes home for a little privacy with a boy to find that both her dad and grandmother are home.
  • Castle telling Beckett that it was going to be "their last case," and we see the first glimpse of how deep Beckett's feelings really are for Castle, by way of her body language as well as her facial expression.
  • Beckett very nearly tells Castle how she feels! But she gets interrupted by Gina (dammit!). Castle then goes on to tell Beckett that he and Gina are going to be spending the summer together, breaking her heart. Beckett, in a brave attempt keeps her tears at bay, tells Castle as he walks away "See you in the fall?" with an uncertain tone, and Castle answers "See you in the fall," in a happy but soft tone. All the while, the rest of the team looks on with sad looks on their faces.

BEST QUOTES

Castle Quotes
  • Alexis: Well... Looks like I'm not the only one getting lucky this summer... Kidding! Kidding! I'm just-I'm just kidding! Castle: That's not funny. That's SO not funny.
  • Cannel: Look Rick, as much trouble as we go through to write these novels, there is only three reasons to commit a murder; love, money and to cover up a crime.
  • Montgomery: Two affairs. A loveless marriage. It's sad a man had to die because all the people involved were too scared to say what they really felt.
  • Castle: Yeah. You know what? You should come. It's right on the ocean, there's a secluded pool. You can lay out work out on your tan. Beckett: Wow, Castle, you're really working hard to see me in a swimsuit. Castle: If you are not comfortable in a swimsuit, you can just skinny dip.
  • Esposito: Why do you think he's been following you all this time? What? Research? The guys done enough research to write fifty books. (pauses) Look, whatever the reason is, I'm pretty sure it doesn't include watching you be with another guy.
  • Beckett: Oh, yeah and your ex-wife called she said you've been avoiding her because you're late delivering your manuscript of... 'Naked Heat'. That's a catchy title. When were you going to tell me? Castle: Well, I was working for the perfect time, it just...never... happened. Beckett: She's naked on the cover again isn't she? Castle: Kinda', yeah. Beckett: That's great. no one's going to make fun of me. Castle: (sighs) Oh, good.

BEST TRIVIA

  • We get to see Gina, Castle's other ex-wife, for the first time.
  • Alexis gets into Princeton's summer program.
  • We find out the name of Castle's new book, 'Naked Heat'.
  • Castle spends the summer in the Hamptons, much to Beckett's dismay, with his ex-wife Gina.
  • Beckett makes an excuse to not go to the Hamptons with Castle, but upon hearing what she says to Demming, her excuse was false and misleading.

What did you guys think of this season's finale? Like it? Hate it? Beckett finally accepted her feelings, but was she too late to act on them? Any theories for next season??
